For those of us who care more than we manage to act on.

Be part of daily kindness. (Even with only minutes to spare.)

Daily Ripple is the app that answers “What can I actually do to make a difference?” one ripple at a time.

We simplify big causes into actions small enough to do today, yet big enough to count.

It's early days and we're opening to a small first group. If you'd like to become a founding member and help shape what Daily Ripple becomes, leave your email and we'll keep you updated in the run-up to early access in September.

Why this exists

You know the feeling.

A headline, a post, something a friend says, and there's that flicker of I should do something about this. Then reality answers back: where do I even start? The days are too full, and I'm just one person. So the flicker fades, nothing changes, and what stays is the sense you could be doing more.

Caring was never the problem.

Most of us care more than we manage to act on. What's usually missing is a clear thing to do the moment that flicker arises.

Daily Ripple is made for that moment. It begins with something real you can do today, and it adds up toward something far bigger.

How it works

Add moments of purpose to your day.

  1. 1

Choose how much time you have to give

  2. 2

Pick from a few actions, sized to fit

  3. 3

Do it now or schedule it, with a fresh set tomorrow

A taste of what you'll find:

Register as an organ and tissue donor

Community

One donor can save the lives of several people, and improve many more through tissue and eye donation.

3 min

Weigh in on parking where you live

Community

The City of Melbourne is reviewing on-street parking across every neighbourhood. When they next review yours, the survey responses from residents are what they use to decide changes.

3 to 8 min

Pick up 10 pieces of litter on your next walk

Environment

People litter less when the street is clean, so clearing a stretch helps keep it that way. And gutter litter is exactly what washes into drains and out to the creek or bay.

5 min

Tell your bank to stop funding fossil fuels

Environment

One of the biggest things you can do is know what your money funds. Your everyday account gets lent back out, and Australia’s biggest banks pour billions into new coal, oil and gas.

5 to 10 min

Get to know a neighbour you've never spoken to

Connection

A street where people know each other is a stronger, more connected one. Neighbours who’ve spoken even once tend to look out for each other, and that begins with a first conversation.

5 to 10 min

Message someone who shaped who you are for the better

Connection

Most people never know the part they played in who someone became. From their side, it was just advice or even simply listening. Thoughtful appreciation is a profound way to thank someone.

10 to 30 min

Donate your old devices to Zoos Victoria's gorilla appeal

Environment

Phones contain coltan, mined from the habitat of the last 8,500 Eastern Lowland Gorillas. Over 95% of a phone’s materials can be recovered, and every donation funds Gorilla Doctors’ work in the field.

20 to 40 min

Drop off spare bedding for shelter animals

Community

Shelters go through bedding constantly. Towels and blankets you’re finished with become a warm, dry place for an animal to rest while they wait for a home.

30 to 40 min

Many of these you can do anywhere. Others are tied to a place, mostly around Greater Melbourne for now. That will grow as members help create new ways to act in their own neighbourhoods.

Some days you'll do more, some days less, but there's always something within reach.

Doing it once is easy enough. Doing it again and again is harder, and that's what motivation can't carry on its own. So we help you build a habit of acting on what matters to you, in whatever way the day allows.

There are no streaks and no scoreboards to chase, so when a week gets away from you, nothing breaks. You can pick it up where you left off, and see friends and neighbours making time for the causes they care about, each in their own way.

This early version is deliberately focused. We're starting with a small set of causes and actions, because the habit is what matters first.

Where it's heading

A daily habit, held by many, in service of something larger.

From day one, your ripples join others to become a current none of us could carry alone.

Underneath it all is a simple belief: that we all have a hand in shaping the world we live in, and it shifts most not through a few people doing the big things, but through many of us doing the small ones.

In time, Daily Ripple grows into a way to meet others in your local community, in person, and further the causes you've been tending. That's what we are building towards. The daily practice is the first step, and it's what we're working on now.

Why join now?

Build it with us from the start.

We're opening Daily Ripple to a small founding group first. As a founding member, you'll have a direct line to us. You'll be among the first using it day to day, so what you think really matters.

We're creating this to be as much yours as it is ours. Come shape it with us.

Daily Ripple is a purpose-locked social enterprise, or, as we like to call it, a “Soulful Enterprise.” In plain terms: it exists to benefit the people who use it and the communities around them. Any profit it makes goes back into our purpose, not into anyone's pocket. No ads, and your personal information is never sold. We're working with our legal team now to write that into our constitution, so it's locked in for good, not just promised.
