Privacy Policy

Daily Ripple is run by Daily Ripple Pty Ltd (ACN 700 068 300), and this policy explains how we handle your personal information. Daily Ripple works because you trust it with a picture of what you care about. We take that seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it.

Your data is yours

You can access, change, correct, or permanently delete your data at any time from your account settings. No forms to fill in, no waiting period, no one trying to talk you out of it.

Deleting erases your personal information — your name, email, home area, and everything you've told us — and it can't be undone. One thing stays: the impact you've already contributed remains counted in your communities' totals, because other people's shared goals are built on it. It is de-identified, with nothing left linking it back to you.

What we collect, and how it is used

We collect the minimum we need to make Daily Ripple work for you. Most of it you give us directly; the rest is recorded by our own systems as you use the app.

• The basics: your name and email address, which you give us when you join the waitlist or create an account, and which we use to keep in touch about Daily Ripple — your invitation, your account, and updates about the product. We'll only send you marketing if you've opted in, and you can unsubscribe any time.
• The causes you choose and the ripples you complete, collected as you use the app, so we can show you your progress and count your part in what the community does together.
• Your home area. You can type a place name or let your device tell us where you are; if you do neither, we estimate a starting city from your IP address or your device's time zone, and you can change it whenever you like. We store it as a place name — a suburb or city — together with the coordinates it came from, used only to bring nearby actions closer to the top of your feed. It is never shown to anyone but you.
• How you use the app, recorded as you go, so we can see what is working and what needs fixing. This measurement is done by us, in our own systems, not by an advertising network.
• Whatever you choose to tell us when you write to us or answer a question we ask, like how you heard about Daily Ripple, so we can reply to you and understand how people find us.

Those uses are the whole list. We don't use your information for anything else.

We use first-party cookies only. They keep you signed in, keep the app secure, remember which link or invitation brought you here, and let us count a visit once. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies in Daily Ripple.

Where your data lives

We host Daily Ripple with Render, on servers in Singapore, so your information is stored and processed outside Australia. By giving us your information, you consent to it being held there.

No selling, no sharing

We never sell your personal data. Your information stays within Daily Ripple and is not shared with third parties for advertising or marketing. There are no ad trackers in the app.

A few providers handle it so the service can run: our host, the service that delivers our emails, and the mapping services we use to turn a place name, a device location, or an IP address into a suburb or city. They may only use it to do that job for us.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you have the same rights over your data:

• See what we hold about you, and correct anything that's wrong.
• Take a copy of your data with you.
• Delete your data, or ask us to stop processing it.
• Hear from us promptly if a breach ever affects your data. We'll tell you what happened and what we're doing about it.

Security

We protect your data with industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit. Access to personal data within our team is limited to the people who need it to run the service.

Daily Ripple may contain links to websites and services operated by third parties. Those links are provided for convenience and may not remain current or be maintained. Unless we say otherwise, we're not responsible for the privacy practices of, or any content on, those linked websites, and we have no control over or rights in them. The privacy policies that apply there may differ substantially from this one, so we'd encourage you to read them before using those websites or services.

Making a complaint

If you think we have breached privacy laws, or you want to complain about the way we have handled your personal information, email founders [at] dailyripple.app. Please include your name and email address, and clearly describe your complaint. We'll acknowledge it and respond within a reasonable period.

If you think we haven't resolved your complaint satisfactorily, we'll tell you what you can do next, including contacting the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au/contact-us or on 1300 363 992.

If this policy changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect, in plain language.
