Tidy a shared space where you live

Old flyers down, expired food out, chairs back where they belong.

10-20 minutes

Why This Matters

A communal space is often nobody’s job, so a small mess can just sit there. When someone tidies it, everyone who passes through gets a space that feels cared for.

Which shared space could use it?

Clutter in your apartment building’s stairwell or entrance, expired food in the fridge you share with housemates, a noticeboard still advertising last spring, or just squaring the chairs around a communal table. Pick one nearby and give it a tidy.

How to do this

  1. Pick your space and look it over.
  2. Bin what’s clearly rubbish or expired.
  3. Not sure it’s rubbish, or still someone’s? Leave it.
  4. Straighten the rest, wash your hands. Done.
