Message someone who shaped who you are for the better

Name one specific thing they did and why it stuck with you.

10-30 minutes

Why This Matters

Most people never know the part they played in who someone became. And psychologists find we consistently underestimate how much sharing specific appreciation means to the person receiving it.

Trace it back

Who came to mind just now? A teacher who took you seriously, a coach or mentor whose advice you still use, or even just a podcaster or YouTuber you’ve never met. Tell them what they did and why it had such an impact on you.

Can’t find them?

Search LinkedIn or Facebook, or ask someone you both know. For a creator you’ve never met, a YouTube comment or a DM gets there, and many list a contact email on their site.

How to do this

  1. Two or three sentences is plenty.
  2. Name what they did, then why it stuck.
  3. Type it or record a voice note.
  4. Hit send. Done.
