Learn the CPR steps that can restart a heart

Call, push, shock. Ambulance Victoria's free videos walk you through it.

5-10 minutes

Why This Matters

Around 21 Victorians suffer a cardiac arrest every day, and only one in ten survives. When CPR and a defibrillator get in before the paramedics, that chance more than doubles.

Call, push, shock

If someone collapses and isn’t breathing normally, the nearest person who knows what to do is the help until the ambulance arrives. The free videos teach the sequence in minutes: call Triple Zero (000), push hard to a steady rhythm, follow the defibrillator’s instructions if one’s nearby.

No account, no booking, and the videos come in a dozen languages. On the day, the Triple Zero call taker talks you through it. This is a head start, not a test.

How to do this

  1. Open Ambulance Victoria’s Call Push Shock videos.
  2. Watch the videos in whichever language suits.
  3. Say the three steps back to yourself. Done.
