Group rides like this run on a volunteer leader and the riders who come along. A slow pace and plenty of stops can turn strangers into neighbours who know each other’s names.

An easy ride with a few locals

A ride leader from the Merri-bek Bicycle User Group takes the group out for an hour or two, then it’s back to Fawkner Neighbourhood House for a free cuppa and biscuit.

How to do this

  1. Check the Merri-bek Bicycle User Group post for details.
  2. Meet the group at Fawkner Neighbourhood House on Fri 6 Nov, 10:15 am and ride for an hour or two.
  3. Follow the leader, and ride for an hour or two.
  4. Keep left on paths and watch for cars on roads.
  5. Stay back for a chat over the cuppa. Done.
