Catch up with someone you'd like to know better
Ask them for a coffee, a walk or lunch, whatever suits you both.
Why This Matters
Turning an acquaintance into a friend takes time together, about 50 hours for a casual friendship. Those hours usually start with one of you suggesting the first.
Who would you like to know better?
A colleague you always click with, someone from run club or a pottery class, the parent you chat to at school pickup, or even just a friend of a friend you always end up chatting to.
What to say
Something warm and true, then something easy to say yes to: “You’re always good to talk to. Want to grab a coffee this week?” No number for them? A group chat or a mutual friend gets there.
How to do this
- Go with whoever came to mind first.
- Ask in person or by message. Offer a day.
- Once you meet, try one question a notch deeper. Done.
The catch-up happens once you’ve both picked a time. You’ll add it here when you hear back.
