Roll up a sleeve and give blood

You book with Lifeblood, a nurse does the rest, snack included.

1½-2 hours

Why This Matters

Every donation is split three ways: red cells, plasma and platelets, and each part can go to a different patient. That’s how one bag can save up to three lives.

One appointment covers it

Lifeblood runs donor centres and pop-up sites all over Australia. A nurse checks you’re well before you start, the donation itself takes about ten minutes, and the snack afterwards is on the house.

Budget about an hour at the centre, plus the trip there and back. A first visit runs a bit longer, with extra questions and ID checks, so don’t book it too tight.

How to do this

  1. Not sure you can? The Lifeblood eligibility quiz settles it.
  2. Book at Lifeblood or call 13 14 95.
  3. Eat a proper meal and drink plenty of water first.
  4. Turn up, donate, enjoy the snack. Done.
