Give a stranger a genuine compliment

Tell someone what you like about their style or something they've done.

1-5 minutes

Why This Matters

Studies suggest compliments land more positively than the people giving them expect. Saying something specific gives the other person a chance to hear what you appreciated.

A thought worth sharing

What do you like about someone you cross paths with? It could be their outfit, how they handled a tricky situation or even just a badge they’re wearing.

How to do this

  1. Pick a passing moment when someone isn’t busy.
  2. Focus on their choices or actions, not their body.
  3. Say what you noticed and liked, keeping it brief.
  4. Leave them free to respond or carry on. Done.
