Drop a book in a street library
A book you're finished with goes into the little free-book box on someone's fence.
Why This Matters
Street libraries hold only what people leave in them. A book dropped in today is on someone’s shelf tomorrow, no card or fees. For a kid, it can be where they learn to love reading.
Which book has done its job?
A novel you finished last summer, the cookbook you never open, a kids’ book they’ve outgrown, or even just the airport paperback you’d never read twice. Street libraries are those little book boxes on a post or fence out the front of a house. Take one, leave one.
Can’t picture one nearby?
Search the map, or keep an eye out on your street. Listings are self-registered, so the nearest library may be an unlisted one two streets over.

How to do this
- Pick a book you’re done with.
- Find a library on the Street Library map or your street.
- Walk it round and slide it in. Done.
