Donate outgrown kids' clothes and gear to local families
Three Melbourne charities take them. Pick whichever has a drop-off near you.
Why This Matters
Kids change size every few months, so clothes that fit are a recurring cost. For a family already struggling, the next size up is one bill they don’t have to cover.
What they’re after
What’s been outgrown at your place lately? Clothes, books, toys, a pram or a cot that’s done its time. Each charity keeps its own accepted-items list, so check yours before you pack the car.
The rule all three use: if you wouldn’t be happy to receive it, don’t donate it. Cots and car seats carry extra safety rules, and a car seat that’s been in an accident can’t be passed on.

Big Group Hug
Newborn to 16 years. Warehouses at Thomastown, Airport West and Tarneit (booking recommended), plus drop-off points across the suburbs.
Our Village
Birth to 16 years. Warehouses at Clayton and South Geelong (book ahead), plus volunteer drop-off points around Melbourne and Geelong.
Mums Supporting Families In Need
Babies to adults. Warehouse at Seaford (no booking needed), plus volunteer points at Beaumaris, Braeside, Burwood East, Frankston, Langwarrin, Mornington and Wonga Park.
If you use a volunteer’s home, message them to agree a time first, and leave nothing on the doorstep unless they’ve said that’s fine.
How to do this
- Check your charity’s accepted list and opening hours.
- Book or call ahead if they ask.
- Sort what’s outgrown into a box or bag.
- Drop it off. Done.
